Stop everything! Great news for those still spending hours killing monsters and battling in these classics. Blizzard has hinted that a possible remaster of Diablo and Warcraft could happen, just like it did with StarCraft: Remastered, where all the graphics were remade and support for 4K Ultra HD was added.

In March 2016 Blizzard announced the development of StarCraft: Remastered, where all graphics are remade and there is support for all video cards and monitors.

The signs that other classics could be remastered come from new job opportunities at Blizzard and an interview with Pete Stilwell, senior producer of StarCraft: Remastered in April 2017.

Pete Stilwell: "Once we get this to the state we want, we're going to start looking at the other games. So, (laughs) nothing official to say today."

The job posting made is very similar to the old opportunities to do the StarCraft remaster, and contains the following requirements:

"Engaging stories, intense multiplayer and endless gameplay. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II titans of their time."
"We will restore them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion and your ability to complete difficult work"
"Implement, maintain and own infrastructure for the Diablo franchise"

So it's no longer a question of "if" Diablo II will be remastered, but "when" it will be done. To imagine how this work would look, let's look at some examples from StarCraft: Remastered:
